Hi, I'm Noam. I was born in Los Angeles, CA but grew up in Haifa, Israel. I was drafted into the Israeli military after finishing high school, and served for three years as a field medic in the Artillery corps. I returned to California for college, studying art and computer science at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I discovered printmaking at Santa Cruz, concentrating on block printing and lithography. I also explored digital printmaking and photography. I graduated with a BA in art, and came to New York City to study design and technology at Parsons the New School for Design.
My MFA thesis was exploration of type revival through research and a typeface design project. I'm currently a junior draftsman at Darden Studio, assisting in the design and refining of digital fonts. I'm an avid musician, having played guitar for about 14 years. My other interests include programming, pocket watches, Jewish culture and Thai sweet chili sauce.
I write and perform music under the stage name Painless Parker, and people seem to like it so far.
